 PAKISTAN MOVES TO INTRODUCE OWN DIGITAL CURRENCY


Pakistan’s central bank, the State Bank of Pakistan is introducing its own digital currency in the future. still, the embracement of digital currency requires strict regulations.

 Shoukat Bizinjo, the fresh Director of the State Bank’s Digital Financial Services Group, lately mentioned that several central banks, including the SBP, are exploring the use of callable bull/ bear contracts( CBBCs) as a implicit approach for launching digital currencies. 
 During the International Conference on Mobile Commerce 2023, Bizinjo stated that the SBP is presently reviewing CBBCs and consulting with other banks regarding digital currency. 
 Bizinjo also stressed the progress made by Electronic Plutocrat Institutions in Pakistan. These institutions have launched-money holdless
 for consumers and merchandisers, as well as other digital payment instruments similar as repaid cards and contactless payment options. 
 According to SBP officers, Pakistan presently has four active marketable Electronic Plutocrat Institutions NayaPak, Finja, CMPECC, and Sada Tech Pakistan. These institutions manage a significant-money balance of Rs2 billion and serve1.6 million-money holdless
